Product: Anti-MDR-Associated Protein 5 mAb, clone 69
Cat. No.: MC-118 (1 mL)
Description:
Multi-drug resistance to a variety of structurallyunrelated
cancer chemotherapeutic agents often
results in the failure of cancer treatments. The
human multi-drug resistance-associated protein
(MRP) gene family contains at least 6 members
designated MRP1 to 6. MRP5 is an integral
membrane protein of 1437 amino acids. MRP5
mRNA is expressed in almost all tissues,
especially skeletal muscle and brain with lower
expression observed in liver, adrenal gland,
placenta, ovary and pancreas. MRP5 may play
a role in some cases of unexpected resistance
to thiopurines in acute lymphoblastic leukemia
and to antiretroviral nucleoside analogues in
HIV-infected patients
Specificity:
Recognizes human multidrug resistanceassociated
protein 5.
Species Reactivity:
Human. Others not tested.
Ig Isotype:
Mouse IgG1
Immunogen:
Recombinant prokaryotic fusion protein
corresponding to a cytoplasmic domain,
between transmembrane domains 7 and 8, of
the human MRP5 molecule.
Positive Control:
Brain
Format:
Lyophilized tissue culture supernatant containing
15 mM sodium azide. Reconstitute in 1 mL of
sterile distilled water.
Storage:
Store unopened lyophilized antibody at 4°C.
The reconstituted antibody is stable for at least
two months at 4°C. For long-term storage, store
aliquots of the antibody at -20oC to avoid freezethaw
cycles. Prepare working dilutions on the
day of use.
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:
Immunohistochemistry: Frozen (acetone
fixation recommended) & paraffin sections
(using high temperature antigen unmasking
technique)
Use at a 1:50–1:100 dilution.
High temperature antigen unmasking
technique. Incubation with the primary
antibody for 60 minutes at 25oC. Standard
ABC technique.
Staining Pattern: Cytoplasmic and membrane.
The optimal dilution for a specific application
should be determined by the researcher.
Limitations:
For in vitro research use only. Not for use in
diagnostics or in humans.
